The living conditions changed enormous

for the Taubachien with the accession of the German Democratic Republic to the Federal Republic of Germany. The SED dictatorship was replaced by the so-called "Rechtsstaat" (law country), which in plain language is nothing more than a constitutional democracy, better would be the expression mock democracy or democratic dictatorship, in which the democracy is over after the election and the citizen as a kind of electing cattle is exposed to the autocratic action or inaction by the elected. With the accession pretty much all concerns of the life of the Taubachien are regulated by law - already the Roman historian and senator Publius Cornelius Tacitus (around 58 - around 120) had recognized: "The more numerous the laws, the more corrupt the government" (Annals III.27).

Concerning the better living conditions is the life in the new state for the Taubachien, who have a regular financial income and are healthy, associated with many amenities. Thus the development of the village Taubach in the first years after the accession of the GDR to the FRG was characterized by extensive renovations of the village building fabric. Wood, cement, roof tiles, ceranic tiles and much more were freely available at last. Many Taubachien undertook great efforts to improve their housing situation sustainable despite the low income of the Taubacher in the GDR and the devaluation of their sour earned money by halving with the introduction of the D-mark.

The Taubach local council decided to plan some development areas, of which only the residential area "An der Schatzgrube" ("At the treasure pit") was realized. Everyone can now see for themselves from the back of the orangery of the Belvedere summer residence, whether the new residential area fits in harmoniously with the old village or not. For those who want to get momentarily a picture right here, the new residential area is marked in red and the original village in green in the picture above. The residential area let the population, measured against the previous population increase of the last centuries, almost abruptly from 693 inhabitants in 1993 to 1,133 inhabitants in the year 2008 in the height, the number of out-commuter grew disproportionately. The position on a former winegrowing slope already gives an idea of the traffic problems in winter road conditions. A participation of the population of Taubach beyond the statutory minimum was not happened, so it was decree from above. Such a big project did not decide a local council itself at any previous time.

Particularly noteworthy for the first years after the political change in East Germany is the connection of Taubach to the natural gas network. The eternal coal carrying was eliminated for the Taubachien and the air became much more breathable, especially during foggy November weather conditions.
